Re: DM42 arrived today! Stack layout?

Hi toml_12953. Thank you for replying. I had already read through Joe's guide and have read through most of "An Alternative HP-42S/Free42 Manual". I have only skimmed the actual user manual but hope to start on it this weekend. The Alpha Register seems to be the register that stores the last Alphan...

Re: DM42 arrived today! Stack layout?

Thank you, Bob. I appreciate the X description. Coming from RPL has me completely turned around. I think the 42s stack is one area where without any doubt to me the 48G makes more sense. What is the Alpha? Also, if I do, 5 Enter 5 Enter 5 + + The 5s roll off the stack like I expect. However, if I f...

Re: how to use mort.raw?

You forgot to divide the annual interest by twelve to get monthly compounding interest. So, monthly interest = 0.025 / 12 = 0.00208333 will give you the result 887.3680803. Note that interest is entered as decimal value, not a percentage. That’s it! Thank you so much. That’s a strange way of inputt...

Re: how to use mort.raw?

I tried the program, and it works for me. I assume that your .03 entry is for the interest . Try entering 0 for [DUE]. Using your values and pushing [PMT] twice, I get the result 45.80379418 in the X-register, which agrees with my HP 12C. That worked for me. The having to push PMT twice is odd to m...

You should also see a program named TVM in the program list. It is called by MORT, and if it is not present you will get the nonexistent error.
I see TVM there but I get the same result. Nothing then nonexistent if you press PMT again.

Re: [DM15] Aeronautical Calculations

As English is the International language and used around the world, it's probably not the best basis for reaching conclusions on locale. Yours is excellent but just imagine if a reader concluded you were American based on that alone... 8-) Americans would never get the impression that he's American...

(Else please show me a proper bar of Swiss chocolate levitating. 8-) )
I had one that levitated but chocolate (especially Swiss or Belgian) never lasts long when I'm around (or is that a round?)

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Marketing at its finest! Sounds great, technically true, but utterly meaningless. Thanks! I couldn't have recited the definition of marketing any better. Has everyone here heard the Microsoft joke along those lines? If not, here goes: A helicopter was flying over Seattle in a thick fog. The pilot w...
