Re: HP-41X Alpha Legend Style

I guess we might all agree that an integrated version of the two alpha maps would be preferable to reproducing them side by side?

That should als leave space for some other pertinent info from the manuals. Question is: What further content might help 41x users? A flag list? A memory map?

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

If you'd like to keep the printer module installed, but not print, then Clear Flag 21 (after each power-on) to tell the 41 OS to ignore the printer, and I believe you will not see the delays. You are certainly right, I did not think that a virtual printer is active on my DM41X virtually at all time...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

My settings a. Display mode: Switching does not change a thing b. Modules active: Advantage and Printer (and yes: unplugging printer helps!) c. Digit display setting: FIX 4 d. Other non-vanilla things: Nope, even resetting the calc has no effects. FAST, SLOW and USB-Power alter nothing Srl 00043 MSI...

Re: Display update difference between DM41X and HP41

... and the R/S works only if you keep it pressed for a few seconds and release it. I tried on battery mode and USB in FAST and SLOW, same result. I reported similar symptoms regarding a test program that performs the counting in stack. https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2304#p15939...

I second that.
The old size was perfect, the new one is a bit too much.

Re: FAST/SLOW status - Sluggish Counter

So, 1. Updated the DM41X to the latest firmware and program package yesterday. 2. Did a Reset (Memory Lost). 3. Entered a short counting program: LBL'TEST FAST 1 ENTER^ ENTER^ ENTER^ LBL 00 VIEW X + GTO 00 END When I XEQ TEST and the program starts. But pressing R/S takes a long time to register and...

Re: After extensive use: The keyboard

There should be no way a keystroke will not register when I press a key. You are addressing a very important issue here. I have entered a packet of programs of 1000+ steps to do some evaluation of the feel the machine gives. It is - I have to mention - a rather unused and therefore clean calc. I wa...

Re: DM41X Beta Programme

There is no interest or plan for the 41X to add either 'normal' fonts or customized stack displays; I do appreciate the great labour that went into the faithful implementation of core 41 features on that new hardware platform. It is set to be my main calc for years to come. But please reflect: The ...

Re: HP-41X Alpha Legend Style

There are many valid reasons to include the secondary alpha assignnents on the rear shell: tradition, newbies, senility, rare use of the 41... But one should also take time to include elements from swissmicro's dm41x manual. Not sure yet, which would be needed, but I strongly suggest we should look ...
