Re: Machine accuracy

For HP50G 1+10E-12-1 = 10E-12 1+5E-12-1 = 0 If 10E-12 were the EPS for the HP 50g, then 10E-12 would be "the smallest machine value that can be added to 1.0 that gives a result distinguishable from 1.0" (the definition of EPS given in the linked PDF). But it's not the smallest. For example, 9E-12 i...

Re: Machine accuracy

The article says that EPS is "the smallest machine value that can be added to 1.0 that gives a result distinguishable from 1.0". However, the photo of the HP 50g shows an EPS of 7.275957614E-12. But smaller values work too, e.g. 1.0 + 6E-12 --> 1.00000000001 It seems to me that EPS for the HP 50g is...

Re: DM-42 in HP-41 font

Point being, every time I hear “goose” I think about my synthetic routine that ran the goose backwards with droppings. And that reminds me of the many fun HP-41 displays that decorated the HHC 2009 website , such as this one, which includes a backwards-flying goose with droppings! http://hhuc.us/20...

DM-42 in HP-41 font

Ugly and redundant, but it still makes me smile because it's the HP-41CX extended font. And a goose. :)

Re: Random images

These look great! What are you using to create the images and adjust dithering? Two different tools: (1) Thumbs Plus . While viewing an image, press D to change its bit Depth, then select Bi-level (1 bit), then play with the Dither method and the Threshold. (2) PaintShop Pro . While viewing an imag...

Re: DM41x is no longer recognised by Windows 10

I was in the same boat a few days ago. I accidentally tried to load a bad image into the OFFIMG folder, and it choked so badly that I had to unplug the cable to regain control, but the FAT was corrupted. The solution was easy: Shift 0 (SETUP), 5 (System), 2 (Enter System Menu), 5 (Format FAT Disk). ...

Re: Dutch Lion

In principle, it would be very nice to see different colours at the first glance in these special 1bit bmp files. +1 Probably, this feat could be achieved by assigning different dithering patterns to these different colours. If someone knows an easy and not time consuming way, I would appreciate an...
