Re: 43S News

Oooh, progress is a snail! At least in coding...

Thanks to Mihail, the Solver is implemented. Thanks to Jaco, a major refinement in statistical data storage is close to be finished. But our other SW guys are occupied by tasks beyond this project...

Re: Battery Consumption

You might know this already but you can operate your DM42 (with a good CR2032 cell inside) connected to an external USB power source. Then the necessary current will be supplied via this connection and the cell inside will be spared. That's recommended for worry-free operations.

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

Anyway, memory limitations of the past should not determine our decisions today anymore. 8-) Hear, hear! I hope that all the new calculators coming out will adhere to that philosophy! Well, I can only speak for our projects - we offer a choice of 4 or 8 stack levels with each of our calculators. Bu...

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

I don't think the wheel number is a fitting paradigm here. A fuel tank may be better: with our calculators, you have a choice of 40 or 80 liters. :D And you're not forced to choose the large one, but you will learn about its advantages. You can feed any (!) real-world formula to an 8-level stack and...

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

In my opinion the main problem with a stack of more than 4 levels is, that it would not be compatible with either RPN (because of the T register) or RPL. I don't assume that you can get new people excited about RPN if you introduce another variant of the two established ones. There would be more ne...

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

Well, YOU may get it if you really like that, of course -- but for kids? KISS: 8 levels cover everything which will ever happen to an intelligent person. Is there any example in regular math (college or Abitur) where four stack levels are not enough? ... Equations of this kind need >4 stack levels ...

Re: Inspiring the next generation of RPN users

Why do you want to see 8 stack levels on the screen? Just confusing. Even displaying 4 stack levels is annoying and overkill IMO. Two shall suffice - compare the HP-42S - so you know the next operands.

Exact Fibonacci Numbers

Just found this on another forum. Please allow me stating that this problem is solved with the WP43S - up to a Fibonacci number with 1001 digits!

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Just a short status report: For manual mode, almost everything is implemented and running. Feel free to test it yourself. Release 0.20.9 is here . For programming, almost nothing is implemented. Sorry, neither program editing nor executing programs so far. We're working on the contents of ADV . SLVQ...
