This single thread on the 43S is getting pretty long...
... but it's still easier to read and scan than multiple threads, isn't it?

Re: 43S News

Burkhard, There's so much information in this thread. The challenge seems to be reading and remembering: For sake of preventing creation of legends, please note: As with the Pioneers, all buttons of the DM42 are one sprue; and all are printed at once. I guess this processing will not change signific...

Re: 43S News

P.S. Who the hell actually uses the word "obelus" when they talk about a division symbol? No native English speakers I've ever heard! That's why it's found in the list of "Rare and Uncommon Words" A division symbol may be "/" and ":" (cf. ISO 80000-2) - thus one needs the term "obelus" for that abo...

Re: 43S News

I fiddled further and the total changes I made up to now are listed and visible on the side by side emulator pics below: 1. Changed "/" with obelus. (HP42S style). 2. Increased the font size of the 4 operators on the emulator. 3. Removed the top key "ˆ" labels. (DM42 style). 4. Change lg to log. (H...

Re: 43S News

... I just think that the operators order and location should be linked and not dissociated as I expressed in the original poll. All my calculators with the operators on the left follow the same operators order, same for all my HP calculators with operators on the right. The WP 43S will be in a 3rd...

Re: 43S News

But it's not a question (for me) of "early" or "late" HP layout. I am actually OK with EITHER the "early" or the "late" layout. What I would really prefer to avoid is a hybrid that is neither... i.e. putting the operators on the left like the "early" ones, but arranging them in the "late" ones' ord...

Re: 43S News

On your request I've to quote myself (sorry). Please read all of the following - no cherry picking: Why are the operators /*-+ on the left and the exit, up, down... on the right? As Bob ((Prosperi)) wrote already, this is a religuous topic ;) Nevertheless I'll try to summarice the facts: All of HP's...

(I'm not going to develop two layouts. Definitely.)
You don’t need to… it’s already done ;)
If you think this way, I must reconsider wasting my talent here.
