Do you think it is possible to increase the capacity of the ROM in a future version or is this an absurd idea.
The limiting factor here is the capacity of the flash ROM inside the STM32L476 CPU that powers the DM42 (and DM41X). It has 1MiB of flash ROM and we're fast approaching that limit.

Re: Flags status DM42

The font used to render the help file only has glyphs for a small subset of Unicode. Basically ASCII and a few symbols required such as arrows etc. Unfortunately letters with accents aren't in the font and there really isn't a lot of space left in the ROM to accommodate everything.

There is no contrast adjustment on the DM42.

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Do you need a calculator or a way to stop a bullet? He lives in France, not in the US of A. 8-) OK, folks. Time to put a stop to this. This thread is supposed to be about the WP43S, not about politics. Quite apart from anything else, insinuating that you need bullet protection if you live in ...

@grsbanks: I tried the conversion from raw to txt with free42 and I was successfull. Now the strings are surrounded with quotes. But there is a little triangle in front of the keyword LBL. Is that a problem?
Nope. It's absolutely normal. It's there on printed listings too.

Re: DM42 battery life time

Looks normal to me given that it drops relatively quickly from "new" but slows down after that. Also, "Rainbow" looks like a cheap Chinese brand to me. The only significant hit on Google is on Ali Baba's website, which screams "cheap Chinese junk that'll last 5 minutes if you're lucky". See how it g...

Re: New Owner DM42

now I try to share the program I made, at first we need a graph mode to use the whole display. I have to use indirect adressing because the storage is in so called "virtual" registers: You don't have to address the virtual variables indirectly. It just makes it much easier for you (and the program ...

Re: STO - RCL Size Error

You maybe didn't realize that it was a matrix but at some point you must have deleted the variable called "REGS". Instead of resetting the calculator, you can recreate the variable by doing this: 25 [ENTER] 1 [SHIFT] MATRIX NEW [STO] "REGS" That creates a new matrix with room for 25 registers, which...

Re: STO - RCL Size Error

On the DM42 and the HP-42S, your numerical storage registers are part of the "REGS" matrix. If you delete that matrix or if it doesn't have enough elements to store the register you want to access (e.g. in your example STO 01, the matrix should have at least 2 elements, 00 and 01) then you get this ...
