Re: Virtual Variables do NOT require indirect access.

The current .pdf file [3.14]still shows indirection is required, yet the help file [2018-08-31] on the DM42 does not mention the indirection requirement. Could you point me to the PDF in question and the part where it says that indirection is required? This is incorrect, as you found out for yourse...

Re: RTC Calibration program

Now, another 16 days later, the clock is slow by less than 1/2 second. That's equivalent to about 10 seconds per year. I could wait a few months for the drift to build up to where I can do a second calibration step, but I don't think I'll bother. :D The resolution of the correction is probably lowe...

Re: Virtual Variables do NOT require indirect access.

Of course direct access is possible. It just uses up a lot more memory and it's harder to enter a program. STO "RefLCD" uses 8 bytes and takes ages (comparatively) to type because you can't create a real variable "RefLCD" to have it ready in a menu. STO IND 00 uses 2 bytes and is much easier to type...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.15

Geoff,

It looks like your DM42 has an issue that was fixed in V3.13. Unfortunately you'll have to update to V3.15 the old-fashioned way but future updates using the new method will work.

Re: RTC Calibration program

Real life does sometimes get in the way of things so I've only got round to this now. Sorry about that.

I've corrected the program and updated the first post in this topic with the new version.

Re: Problem getting USB disk to access?

*ALL* versions of the DM42 have always had USB disk mode. What changed in V3.5 was the ability to flash firmware from the FAT drive. Until then, the only way to update the DM42 was by throwing the CPU into DFU mode and for that, you did need libusb. Since V3.5, it has been possible to update the DM4...

UPDATE: DMCP-3.15

This is a maintenance update for the DM42 calculator. This update addresses problems with the interpretation of keys pressed quickly in succession such that they "overlap" (i.e. the second key is pressed before the first one is released). There is no update to the Free42 part of the firmware in thi...

Re: ? DM42 as Alarm Clock ?

I'm afraid not.

Many of the functions in the HP-41C Time Module were ported to Free42 but sadly, alarm functions are not among them.
