Re: Calculator Forensics results

Free42 works with about 34 significant digits. If you substrat 9 to the forensic result, you get something like 6e-29, which is very small, due to the high precision.
Some others calculators have an extended precision like the sharp pc1475 (20 digits) or the wp34s (32 digits?).

Re: Why not a DM17BII?

Because it would be much more expensive than a second hand hp17bii that you can grab for a dozen bucks.

Re: Ladybug module on the DM41X

The option to display only 1 line, as in the real HP41, would be handy in this case (and some others).

Re: Help With a reset question

And if you format the FAT drive, you’ll loose you state files if any, the programs you might have saved and of course the off images. So when you turn it off, you’ll only have a blank screen.

Re: DM15 - When can I order one?

I think that what Walter meant was : why buy a dm15 when you have a dm42. And in case you want a dm15, you’d better buy a dm15L than a dm15 because the dm15L has a much better keyboard. And you can still put it in your pocket.

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of the old and new DM-42? Sorry if that topic already exists and I missed it.

Re: Enter Key Double Click

This is kind of "normal" since the ENTER key has two swicthes (domes) and if you press right in the middle, you manage to press them both. The hp41 doesn't have this problem since th ENTER key only has 1 dome in the middle. I suppose there is some reason why SW put 2 domes instead of 1 und...

Re: New DM42S hardware

I eventually bought a new dm42 and received it. The keyboard is definitely better, as good as the dm41x’s but I’m a bit disappointed about the font used for the labels on the faceplate. This font is bigger. I prefer the older painting. The font used for the top (SwissMicros DM42) is also better on t...

Re: no ROM no fun

Here you can find a list of all known modules for the hp41 :
http://www.hp-collection.org/41database.html

But there is no link for downloading the module nor the documentation.

Re: WP34S overlay and cable

I think that you can still order overlays from :
https://commerce.hpcalc.org/overlay.php

But concerning the flashing cables, it’s very hard to find one. When they appear on some site, they end up at a high price. But you can build your own cable using pogo pins.
