Re: Non-numeric stuff in calculations

H2X My example shows the need for handling of some sort, as long as an error doesn’t stop execution. Either way will work for that. The identification of the incoming operand number as a non-number and the handling-at every math function is one way of doing it, Preventing entry to math functions if...

Nice examples of "information about why it's not a number" which I was referring to earlier.

@Jaymos, with an exception-handling mechanism in place, you'd be fine?

@Walter, I assume there is or will be one in the 43S?

Re: Non-numeric stuff in calculations

From a practical point of view for me it is essential that in a formula compromised of sequential RPN steps, that no one step will result in a hard error, regardless how bad the error is, because that will require manual intervention and stop the process. When you graph or solve for roots of f(x) =...

Re: DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator

The problem is that the portrait skin got shown when my iPad was in landscape orientation - and when my iPad was in its portrait orientation, a different layout was shown. Just be aware that the skin settings for portrait and landscape modes are separate and independent of each other. Selecting a s...

Re: DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator

I do not provide any landscape layout and I'm not planning to make one for now. Perfectly fine! I agree that only the portrait skin makes sense. The problem is that the portrait skin got shown when my iPad was in landscape orientation - and when my iPad was in its portrait orientation, a different ...

Re: DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator

Interesting! Is it supposed to work to open the download link from within the IOS app? I tried, the internal browser in the DM42 found the web page, but clicking on the desired zip file does not seem to accomplish anything... The skin loader in Free42 does not handle zip files, but if StreakyCobra ...

Re: DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator

Hi there :D I have a small gift for you in this holidays season: a DM42 skin for the Free42 simulator: Open source Available in different sizes (up to 2903×5462) The top row can be used to navigate menus, the second row functions are mapped directly and do not require "TOP.FCN", even when a menu is...

Re: 43S Stack Register Designation

Why should we initialize anything? It will pop out the stack anyway. And if we want to load the stack with anything, we'd just press FILL. Because then the newly created 8-level stack would behave the same way as the converted 4-level one, from the get-go. FILL doesn't accomplish this, AFAICS. PS: ...

And expanding stack size means allocating 4 extra registers then participating in stack mechanics (far easier than elementary quantum mechanics, BTW).
Initializing their values to zero - or the value of the 4-level T register?
