Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
Hi Bob, the HEPAX_8H uses only four blocks. The ‘4’ in HEPAX_4H probably points to its dependance on Lib#4. Cheers, Werner Yeah.... of course. The dang this, I know this... even if it isn't obvious... But I suspect this will come up again... ;) The answer lies within:: 20210227-07480482.bmp

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
@angel - can you update the 8H image or let me know the address and bytes to change; I'll hexedit it and update a patched version. The only address to edit is the first word on the third page - use any XROM id# available. But I'm afraid doing that will not change the MOD file, only the RAM contents...

Re: High-Resolution Plot
Oh yes! But 40 years later, a high resolution plot should look more like high resolution, doesn't it? With the same printer and the same O/S? If you don't change anything in 40 years, well, alas, it may be your fault. Some progress sometimes is nice for us, isn't it? Oh but many things have changed...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
Afraid the HEPAX_8H.MOD I posted had a problem: a duplicate XROM id# in one of the RAM pages. BTW you can use the HEXEDIT function to modify said XROM id# at any time - in fact you will need to do that to avoid conflicts with other modules (see HEPAX manual for details). PS. Great problem solving! A...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
The contents of HEPRAM, just like any other upper RAM pages, do indeed remain intact when you remove the HEPAX module; this is described in the docs.If you plug in another module which allocates RAM pages, they will still have their prior contents, but AFAIK, modules doing so do initialize the RAM ...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
Guys, there are two things at play here: 1. The HEPAX structure, ROM, HEPRAM, and how it actually works. 2. The implementation on the DM-41X - For #1 I strongly encourage you to refer to the excellent manuals, available at hp41.org. Yes you need the HEPAX ROM to manage the HEPRAM pages, yes they loo...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
Since the 4H doc actually said 'full support of the Lib#4 has added functionality (..)', I was confused. Support of the Lib#4? I thought I had understood that Lib#4 was a collection of often-used Mcode snippets conveniently placed at a fixed address, so you either use it (and then you need it) or y...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?
Thank you, Angel. Does this mean HEPAX_4H needs the LIB4 module as well? It's not clear for me.. It isn't .. the very last line of your document, sorry! Werner I can see that's a very confusing last statement, probably best to remove it and replace it with this: "Although the library#4 is not ...
