Re: DM41X V2.1

excellent release, thanks! [*]The XROM ID of a plugged-in module now shows on the "ROM Map" and "Module Page Info" pages. I notice that the XROM# for LIBRARY4 (35) is not shown at either of the above. PWRX's ROMLST, PG? & ROM? functions all show it, however. All of those fun...

Re: DM41X ED$ Bug in SLOW-mode

AFAIK the emulator is capable to interpret time-counting loops and behave as expected, i.e. as if the machine was in SLOW mode for the execution of those loops. I believe this is achieved at the low level DMCP code. That sounds indeed pretty magic. Would be cool if it actually just works. I will ha...

Hi
:?: about the new list of modules: What is new in the module WRAP_BS3?
Enhanced support of LAST-5 now includes sub-functions in all modules, called by index or by name. Manuals available at http://systemyde.com/hp41/documents.html

Re: DM41X ED$ Bug in SLOW-mode

So I will conclude that the modules I write that rely on timing loops in certain situations do not work well on the DM41X. AFAIK the emulator is capable to interpret time-counting loops and behave as expected, i.e. as if the machine was in SLOW mode for the execution of those loops. I believe this ...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

Hi Thomas, you know I'm not even sure that the fonts used are based on that TTF set (Luiz Vieira's); it's possible but I don't really know. FWIW here's how the output of DT (PPC ROM) and DTST (OS/X Module) look like on V41 with the patched ROM: Capture1.PNG Capture2.PNG I'm sure you can tell which o...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

I can understand that, but have you found an example where such compatibility is lost? So far we're only discussing why the starburst don't show like starburst anymore...' Well, if that's the ONLY incompatibility, it's not so bad but usually, when one incompatibility shows up, there are others lurk...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

Now we are talking on the same level ... ;) Sorry for stirring up this, but I'm eager to understand what is going on under the hood, hence all my questions ... :P In binary, 127 = 01111111 but adding one more (128=10000000) requires bit(7) to be up, which is the trigger to the OS to show a colon ne...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

Can the half-nut run the test OK? If not then I have no objection to the current situation since the 41X is compatible with it. If the half-nut has lowercase and can run the test without flaws, then I would like the 41X to be 100% compatible with that. Which test, the FOCAL implementation on the PP...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

Hi Ángel, Thanks for your reply - and explanation! No, I don't want to roll back to not having lower case alphabet ;) (Sorry for messing thing up - since the original questions was not related to lower case characters.) Glad to hear that! My question is why all characters in range 128-255 shows as ...

Re: Display test ... not 100% correct?

Yes it'd be possible to revert to the original mainframe ROMS - but will you give up the lower case capability to reconcile those fringe cases? ÁM I would give up lowercase. Compatibility is more important to me than new features. With all due respect that's absurd, in my humble and totally ignore-...
