Re: C47 Performance on DM42 hardware
The SM units use austentic stainless steel that isn’t particularly magnetic. Modern Qi transmitters should have good-enough Foreign Object Detection (FOD) to avoid damaging any parts from the high-frequency EM exposure wireless charging induces. Remember that even cell phones that use wireless charg...

Re: May 2021 Speculations
Following on Bob’s comment above, why would I want an HP32 clone if I already have an HP42/41 series calculator? Was the HP32 simply more common in its heyday compared to the 41 and 42 and therefore a 32 clone is expected to attract a wider audience, or is the 32 more functional in some way?

HP 32 vs 42 vs 41?
It seems like the 41CX was the ultimate calculator in terms of overall functionality and ignoring price. Would I want to buy a DM32 when I already have the 42 and 41X?

Command line calculator applications
What CLI apps are out there for calculators, particularly with RPN support? I am aware of bc and dc (the latter supports RPN input). Are there HP-42s implementations/emulators/clones that run on a CLI, Linux or otherwise? Free42? Anything for HP-41CX? Or for that matter any of the other popular HP c...

Re: Battery Consumption
Some battery packs have a(n often undocumented) mode for charging low-current devices. For example, several of My Anker brand battery packs will enter this mode after pressing and holding the button for a few seconds. A green light replaces one of the blue power level indicator lights, and then the ...

Re: Random Generator in the DM42
Do they claim how it’s a TRNG? Does it have an antenna for picking up background radio waves or something?

Re: Battery use while off
I haven’t had this experience, but I have had wildly inconsistent performance between individual CR2032 batteries, even batteries from the same manufacturer and same retail package. Could this be due to the new battery you put in?

Re: DM15L-Benchmark startup never stops + screen metal plate rises
I'm not sure about the never-ending benchmark. The button overlays are known to unstick over time. Gently heating the plate, clamping it down, and letting it cool can sometimes help. Otherwise, you can remove the plate, gently clean all the adhesive and manufacturing residue, and re-stick the plate ...
