Re: Experimental Apr 10 2024

The only thing I can see from this is that SM are in fact working on issues with their firmware. Might just be that other issues are caught, but I'm sorta on Bob's side. I'll wait for a formal release. Let's hope the DM42 is getting some luv too....

Re: Experimental Apr 10 2024

Ha! Yeah Peet... looking better. However, was just by chance that I stumbled on this. Would be nice to see any release notes that accompany the "update". Also, noted are the user manuals - one in PDF and the other HTML. The PDF does not have an updated date whereas the HTML one does... wou...

Re: Need to update my firmware...

Anyway, I am running DMCP 3.23, DM42 3.21, and Free42 3.0.9. I have some questions: The documentation says the preferred upgrade method is to copy the new firmware file to the FAT disk, and let it re-flash from there. But it says that that's available in DMCP 3.5 and later, so maybe I don't have ac...

Re: Software maintenance

Thanks Thomas. A reaching question(s): how much work is involved for SM to incorporate your new improvements/additions? Are you involved in isolating unrelated additions (or related additions/improvements)? (do you make design decisions that are deliberate to help SM incorporate your Free42?) Will ...

Re: DM42 dead after a long weekend

Hiya. Yes. You do remember correctly. Both my 42 and 41 are still chugging away on the CR2016 (edit CR2025)... not used as much as many people do, but the CR2016s (edit CR2025) are still alive.... I'll revisit my post. Anyway, CR2025 do work, but will not last as long. Not sure if there would be a s...

Re: DM42 dead after a long weekend

Just for interest....https://data.energizer.com/pdfs/cr2032.pdf and https://data.energizer.com/pdfs/cr2016.pdf

I reckon enough data here to visualize the battery. Currently I've a CR2016 in DM42.... been a month or so, still working. I expect it to die way sooner than a CR2032 though.

Re: Overlays!

I dont get it. Why doesnt Swiss Micros have professional Overlays made and sell them? Seems like a major oversight to provide for Overlays and leave it up to users to figure out a way to make overlays. Why would SwissMicros make overlays when none of their calculators require an overlay? Or do you ...
