DM42 unresponsive out of the box
I had recently order a DM42 but unfortunately, right out of the box, it refuses to turn on. What I've done so far: changed the battery just in case, pressed and held every combination of on and reset possible, also checked that the screen is plugged in inside. No good. Discouragingly, two emails to ...

Re: [DM16]/(16C) Linear Feedback Shift Registers
aw gosh, thank you very much, that's super encouraging to hear. I'll try my best, I know I want to actually dig up some interesting machine code level stuff from some actual (probably old 8-bit) computer in the future and try to replicate it on the 16C. if I do, I'll probably end up excitedly writin...

Re: [DM16]/(16C) Linear Feedback Shift Registers
YO! pwarden42! You're my new favorite person! These alternate "get bit" subroutines are so dang cool, and I got so dang excited about them, I wrote about them in that already stupidly long, and now stupidly longer, pdf. You've been credited and thanked and praised. I'll drop a link to the ...

[DM16]/(16C) Linear Feedback Shift Registers
I recently picked up an HP-16C and decided to try writing some linear feedback shift registers for it. wasn't feeling too ambitious, so I just replicated the two that had diagrams on wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear-feedback_shift_register (16 bit unsigned mode, displaying leading 0s....

Re: DM16L memory question
yeah, to clarify, I don't mean flashing DM15 firmware to a DM16, but patching DM16 firmware so it also has expanded memory like the DM15 alternate firmware options do. still a DM16/HP-16C feature set, just more memory and stuff.

DM16L memory question
I've been waffling on getting the DM16L for some time now, and I have a small question. could its firmware also be modified to utilize more memory like the DM15L? I've enjoyed writing programs for my 16C, but I'm starting to run up to the memory limitations more and more often. it would be super rad...

DM41X LastX Display Option
Occasionally in emulators they’ll show all four stack registers as well as lastx. as someone admittedly still getting a handle on working more efficiently in RPN, I’ve found that feature extremely helpful repeatedly. I’m wondering if any squeezing can be done to include that as a display option. per...

Re: +x logo
I've been really loving these, excellent and clean work. I didn't expect my shiny new DM41X to pull me back into graphic design work (especially with little 1 bit dithered images) but here I am, it's a lot of fun.

Re: A healthy selection of HP calculators
and to make it easier, here's just a big dump of all 50 bitmaps I've got on my DM41X right now, including one of the preloaded images, screen shots of Windows 3.11 and Macintosh System 1 running their calculator apps, some slides from an old HP presentation, the pillars of creation from the eagle ne...
