Re: Experimental Apr 10 2024

Of course. I put up a video on youtube. I have done a reset. It does not have to do anything with the update because it does that as long as i have the device. (i am pretty sure it has to do with slowing down the processor) https://youtu.be/qykousnnBrE Ah, OK, now I understand, thanks for the video...

Re: Experimental Apr 10 2024

OK, OK, we need to find better hiding places.... This is NOT a formal release, it was placed there for access by a few users that reported a specific bug to verify the fix. Please do NOT treat this as a generally usable version, in fact I recommend you not use it all. It was supplied specifically to...

Re: Need to update my firmware...

Try installing a new battery, the initial problem you described sounds like this is the issue, and the fact that connecting external power resolves the issue supports this conjecture. To upgrade using dm_tool, there is Linux version available here (the upper file): https://technical.swissmicros.com/...

Previously reported bug - CORRECT disables Alarms

Someone reported some time ago that using the CORRECT command can disable alarms, but this apparently only occurs under specific circumstances. Does anyone recall this issue and does anyone know how to reproduce it? We're looking at a possibly related report and trying to understand possible causes,...

Re: Software maintenance

Thanks Thomas. A reaching question(s): how much work is involved for SM to incorporate your new improvements/additions? Are you involved in isolating unrelated additions (or related additions/improvements)? (do you make design decisions that are deliberate to help SM incorporate your Free42?) Will ...

Re: Problem Connecting DM32 to Windows Computer

A common cause (although in general it is still not at all common) of connection problems is disconnecting the device from the PC before telling the PC to 'eject' the device. This can lead to corruption of the FAT drive and subsequent issues. In your case you mention 'driver' errors, are you sure it...

Re: Trouble Entering Numeric Labels on DM42

Please be more specific about the trouble you're having.

What are you keying and what result are you getting, versus what you are expecting.

Use of local labels is described on p. 116 of the 42s User Manual.

Re: DM42 and HP82240 A/B Thermal Printer

Interesting, as less than a page later it says: 2.3. IR Printing Calculator contains IR output and can print on HP 82240B infrared printer. From memory, I thought it had been tested with both, bit finding 2.3, I concluded my memory is wrong. Now seeing section 2.1, I'm wondering which is correct, bu...

Re: Spamhaus block again

Thanks again BigEd. :)

Spamhaus verification has been disabled, at least for a while, so this problem should go away.

Please report issues like this id they recur.
