Re: New Help File ?

That was reported after the file was updated, and as the "DEC/DEG" typo is trivially obvious to any reader, not worth another update IMHO.

Re: New Help File ?

The date is likely just an oops if the file is new.

Other than the Time/Date functions (common to the 41 Time Module), none of the Free42 enhanced commands are in the DM42 help file, but they are all described in detail on the Free42 website: https://thomasokken.com/free42/#extensions

Re: 43S News

@Walter I agree it is quite common to include the latest information in the 1st post of a long thread, when the links, versions, etc. are expected to change over tine, this is absolutely the most common convention at MoHPC, hp41.org and most other boards for other topics. It's useful because the 1st...

Re: When will the DM42 be updated to include the latest Free42 3.02...

Predictably, I just have to ask... which features in Free42 3.0.2 do you need, and did you not find them working properly in the recent Beta releases?

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.21 / DM42-3.18b1 BETA RELEASE

Just downloaded and installed the supposedly patched combo binary file, but the problem persists. -1 SQRT yields Insufficient Memory error, so, either the DM42 program has not been patched or the patch doesn't work. Hmm interesting. From my limited testing it looks like anything that would generate...

Re: Programs For Stamp Collectors

I have recently started rewriting all my old programs using the new and improved functionality in free42. Figured I would post them on github in case they might be useful to someone else... Thanks for sharing all these programs, both from a 'thanks for sharing your nicely documented programs' persp...

Re: Are dot files write protected in FAT FS?

I didn't know anything about git's timing sensitivity, but this does make perfect sense as the Flash FAT drive definitely is fairly slow for writing, so this probably is the cause. Given all that, I agree with reavy's suggestion, use git to manage a mirror of the FAT's content on the machine you use...

Re: Are dot files write protected in FAT FS?

Wow, you live under serious control...

It's possible the FAT implementation in the library doesn't support this, as it seems to be legal on actual FAT drives.

We'll have to wait to hear back from SM.

Re: Delete States

If the cable is good and works reliably in different folders, then the FAT structure is likely corrupted and you should: a. Backup all your folders b. Format the FAT drive - [shift] [SETUP] [5] [2] [5] c. Restore all your (good) files and the problems should disappear. Please confirm if this does or...

Re: Delete States

This behavior you are reporting is always related to bad cables (either connector is not inserted tightly/deeply enough or the cable quality is poor). For deleting a state file, just ignore it until the next time you connect, they take up only tiny amounts of FAT disk space, unrelated to memory usage.
