Re: weird SOLVER behavior

OK, something corrupted in the state, I guess. I didn't have a state file loaded but it has been sitting idle for a while since the last firmware update. I just loaded a clean state and it behaves as expected.

Re: weird SOLVER behavior

The program is fine and solving for CT works as expected when I try it in Plus42. This should work fine on the DM42 as well. yes, that's what I hoped You could try putting SOLVE "CT" in a program, and then using SST to step into it, to make sure it's executing the right function. Unless t...

Re: weird SOLVER behavior

Thanks Walter.

My understanding is that you have to set your relationship (the function) equal to zero.

0=((CS*DOL)/(T-(2*DOL)))-CT

I verified the program works on three other types of 42. by "works" I mean it results in CT=the expected CT

weird SOLVER behavior

maybe I'm just old and confused. I was verifying results from Excel for a really simple relationship and I tried to use the DM42's solver. Instead of putting the correct solution into the solve-for variable, it puts the solution in the Z register and puts zero in the variable. I entered the exact sa...

Re: Converting to 1-bit

Well Gimp is still great for lots of things. I don't mind the short xconvert step now that I know how to do it. Thanks for confirming the gimp issue because I thought I was doing something wrong.

Re: Converting to 1-bit

Just found that XnConvert (also from XnView) will take a 1 bit monochrome bitmap from GIMP and 'correct' it for viewing in my DM42. I don't know what the new version of GIMP is doing wrong, but the files won't display unless I run them through XnConvert and re-save them. I set up a 'clean metadata' ...
