Re: DM42pcm-3.20.8 released
Thanks for this essential improvement of the original firmware. You are welcome! :) To add those 6 dedicated buttons was an excellent DM42 hardware design decision, however, the opportunity was completely missed by practically not making use of them - was kind of frustrating. Hope at some point in ...

Re: Any experience with changing the feet?
I have similar 'problem' here, but I don't think it's because of placement or skew. On my unit, the base is bowed outwards ever so slightly so the bottom is slightly concave. This means the feet sit at a slight angle where the inner part of each piece of rubber touches the table, while the outer par...

"Persistent custom menu" firmware
I've loaded up ljubo's firmware and complex numbers are working again. Thomas Okken's patch definitely does the job.
I also like the concept of the custom menu as default, but since I don't have any keys set it's just blank, which makes it look a bit strange.

Re: Catalog->Mem broken in program mode
I agree, not worth expending effort fixing unless it's obvious as easy to fix. DM version 3.17.
BTW Free42 on the iPhone works fine. V 3.0.1

Catalog->Mem broken in program mode
Minor bug with Catalog->Mem while in program mode causes it to display "Available Memory:" without an accompanying value for free memory. The function Catalog>Mem works as expected when not in program mode.

Re: Free42 Version 3
Dang, I was hoping V3 with the big stack would also give us options with the 4 level mode to pull down the stack whenever the DROP <- key is pressed. Or at least pull down the stack on the second press of the key after clearing X to zero.
At least they've done it for the NSTK mode.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
Wow, after mucking around with the simulators, the C43 layout and use is so much more intuitive than the Wp43S layout. I suppose that could be I’ve been using my HP42s for nearly 30 years. Although I do have a Wp 31S and that thing is super easy to use. Since I picked up a DM42, the 31S has gone to...

Re: third root of -8...
On an algebraic calculator like the TI-89 or the Casio Classpad, you can type in (-8)^(1/3). In "complex" mode you get the complex root, and in "real" mode you get the real one. In this case the calculator can "see" the entire equation, and notice the special case of a...
