Re: SOLVE reentrancy

Thank you, Thomas!

I only tested this because I first looked for the lazy and luxurious solution before making an iterative approach myself.

I think, in the spirit of HP-42S, a single level "Solve" is normally sufficient.

SOLVE reentrancy

I tried to use PGMSLV/SOLVE into a function used in the SOLVE application.
I got a message "solve(solve)" when executing SOLVE.
I suppose it's because SOLVE is not reentrant.

Or am I wrong ?

Re: LOG bases

I did a small test with 5000 times LOG(X)/LOG(B) against LN(X)/LN(B). With LOG it was 17.6 seconds and with LN it was 18.05 seconds. Wondering why, I did the test without the division. There the LN version was 14.2 seconds and the LOG version 14.85 seconds. So, Thomas, the faster division compensat...

Re: LOG bases

LOGb(X) = LN(X)/LN(b) ...is slightly faster :) Just curious: why is it faster a LN than a LOG? Because LN is calculated while LG is derived from LN. :geek: I did a small test with 5000 times LOG(X)/LOG(B) against LN(X)/LN(B). With LOG it was 17.6 seconds and with LN it was 18.05 seconds. Re: LOG bases

Do you mean this one:
LOGb(X) = LOG10(X)/LOG10(b)
If yes...no solver required ;)

Re: Complex matrix inversion with issues

Thanks Thomas. I was already very satified with this 68. But your are right ... it's their software ... I suppose they know what they are doing. :D

Re: Complex matrix inversion with issues

Thanks for the great info, Thomas. I tried to build a gcc111bcd library with the arm-tools, but I'm not shure what are the options taken by Swiss Micros, so I took another method to minimize the chance for trouble. I took the lib from the SM git repo, took bid128_hypot.o out of it. After disassembly...

Re: Complex matrix inversion with issues

Great work, Thomas.

I am looking to upgrade the DM42 to this new version of Intel-BCD. The library for the DM42 in SwissMicros-git is called gcciiilibbid_hard.a. I was wondering if this can be replaced by the library created via your shell script build-intel-lib.sh for arm7 arch.

Greetings,

Johan.

Re: Complex matrix inversion with issues

Thanks for your fast response, Thomas.
I downloaded the new version of Free42 and updated the Android App. It is running great.
I suppose the update of the DM42 firmware will take a little longer (I use the graphics of the DM42 in the program I'm busy with).

Again thanks and kind regards.
Johan.
