I did the same thing (minus the squeak) when I received my DM42.
I find I often "fix" things by simply taking them apart and putting them back together. If that doesn't fix it , maybe a little silicone grease in the area you think the sound is coming from would do some good?

Re: Annuciators
Thanks! I am so used to the 41 that the differences trip me up. I have never used a 42s so am doubly slow on the finer points. I had not realized until now that the 42s doesn't display user flags as does the DM42. It makes sense as a programer to use 0-4 for housekeeping if they are not displayed.

Re: Recharge the calculator ??? No CR2032?
CR2032 is not rechargeable, Maxell datasheet says “Never charge”. So I believe the circle board has such a certain design to prevent the cell battery from being charged. There is a rechargeable version of same voltage and size, its ML2032, with 65mAh capacity and a maximum 2mA charge and discharge ...

What Battery?
Dumb first post: I would like a replacement battery on hand. What is the battery spec.?
I scanned the online manual and didn't see it there. (That doesn't mean that it is not there, just that I didn't see it there.)
