Re: Clock accuracy?

Hi Walter, you are right :) I am biased toward the -40°C - +85°C range, as this is what most customers demand. Mainly the Telecom industry, which is the number 1 user of Timing devices. Automotive usually requires -40 to +105°C and aerospace/defense even more. There are basically 3 options: 1) 32 kH...

Re: Clock accuracy?

The clock will be as accurate as the crystal it's using. Importantly, it will be no more accurate. Crystals are graded based on their inaccuracy and sold as such. If you purchase a 100ppm crystal, it will be 100ppm (or fractionally under) at the temperature it was calibrated at. This leads to tempe...

Re: Collection of wishes for future SwissMicros products - discussion following Bob Prosperi's HHC 2022 talk

So would I. :) But I understand that it would be hard to squeeze it into the flash of the current version? I don't know about that but, if I compare to Plus42 on my iphone, it seems that 1 row of keys is also required. Time for SwissMicros to build a new platform with a slightly longer case, an ext...

Re: Collection of wishes for future SwissMicros products - discussion following Bob Prosperi's HHC 2022 talk

A DM42Plus running Plus42 on the new SOC platform would be nice (if it fits). SM would need to license the Plus42 code from Thomas, perhaps on a royalty basis. I'm releasing the Plus42 source code under GPLv2, just like I do with Free42. All I'm keeping closed source, for now, are the Android and i...

The paid version of Free42 is a premium product that Thomas Okken will be licensing to individuals. This product will not be coming to the DM42.
Does this mean, no chance whatsoever to get Plus42 (or Free42+ or however it is called) to the DM42 hardware?
Thanks,
Etienne

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

If it's not too late, count me in for a beta unit also. Thanks. I have to say, I was not familiar with the WP-43S project until a few days ago when I stumbled on this thread. This encouraged me to download (and indeed read, thanks to the vacation!) the manual and I have to say, KUDOS to the author(s...

Re: Feature requests

Also, I know why people complain about the keypad on the DM42. It's because sometimes you long-push a number and it double or triple pushes it. To me, it doesn't make sense that the buttons are auto-push when you hold them down. If you just removed the auto-button (or at least had an option to remo...
