Re: Got a HP-15C CE today
The quality is good, almost as good as the hp15c limited edition. I don't really see or feel any difference between the CE and LE from the build quality POV. And none of them is worse than the two original originals I still have and use. I may be lucky to get only good specimens though. I think it'...

+1. I wouldn't risk going out of power in the middle of the switch.Nigel (UK) wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:57 pmOn the other hand, connecting to a computer for switching is sensible from a battery-saving point of view; perhaps it would not be wise to switch without being connected to a computer.

Re: A Method To Quickly Change Between DM42 pgm And Any Alternative pgm
I'd like to eject the calculator within the domain of the hosting computer, i.e. include an unmount command in the script. Problem here is, that under Linux only root can do this which I'd like to avoid.. A proper umout is a must, no way around that. Never ever break the connection of a "mount...

Re: DM42 dead after a long weekend
Just for interest....https://data.energizer.com/pdfs/cr2032.pdf and https://data.energizer.com/pdfs/cr2016.pdf I reckon enough data here to visualize the battery. Currently I've a CR2016 in DM42.... been a month or so, still working. I expect it to die way sooner than a CR2032 though. IIRC, you exp...

Re: Dust in DM32 screen
I tried disassambling as described in the manual but that doesn't allow access to the secreen. I dare not try avosough's method :( I haven’t needed it with any of my SMs yet but it’s a pretty standard technique, I definitely used it on some HP graphers. See e.g. https://hhuc.us/2006/dust/ by Joe Ho...

Re: Cooking My DM15L Fixed The LCD
Congrats to the successful repair!
BTW, is there a term or informal name for this defect? I’m aware of two other types, “bleed” and “rot”. Those are not repairable, AFAIK.

Re: Does DM41L have same capabilities as DM41x?
I wonder why they make the L. I wonder if future firmware updates will fix some of the shortcomings. IIRC, the L came first - they already had the HW platform for the Voyager-like line and tried to reuse it for the 41 SW. The portrait platform and the X came later. I don't expect any improvements i...

You meant Estonian, perhaps? Sorry, just nitpicking, the message was clear regardless the wrong example.

Re: New "HP"-15C Collectors Edition
Brittons, Spaniards or even Americans are enjoying their new calculator while I, living next to Brno, am waiting for mine to return from the vacation in Spain. One of the little ironies of life :-)
