Re: DM42/Free 42 feature request: "User mode"

I'm curious what kind of problem that could be where the custom keys of the 42 are insufficient. Personally, I can't think of any practical application at the moment in which the CST functions of the 42 would not be sufficient. Even if this exists, it should not be a problem for these few users, who...

Re: Deleting the .END. (maybe)

The last program in memory (no matter whether with instructions or empty) requires the .END. or an END because otherwise you would not be able to reach it (execute, delete, edit) if it does not have a name label. LBL "AAA" x^2 END 2 * PI + END or .END. -> without this you can't access the ...

Re: The unused top function key

It's a shame that this idea was never taken up. Even a simple solution would be a dream, for example, if F3 was assigned to e fixed program, e.g. F3 executes XEQ USER. In this way, many user requests could be fulfilled and some deficiencies of the DM42 could be improved without great effort. As user...

Re: third root of -8...

...now I wonder why most other calculators show -8^(1/3) = -2 One can speculate that it was a philosophical decision by the developers, but I fear it is due to the technical implementation of the routines. I prefer the results from the 42 because I prefer warnings to half-knowledge. If I see the da...

Re: DM42 key print quality issues

Pixel peeping.. Well, I have a knob in my car that is the same. I guess I have to have it exchanged in a new one. Not only the knob but the whole car. If you need a magnifier to see it in a day to day basis and a macro lens to even photograph it, I'd say it's a luxury problem. I'm sure the calc sti...

That would definitely be a good resolution for SMs next gen.

Re: Request for feature: alternate font

The original LCD "font" was necessitated by the LCD technology of its time. This is no longer the case. While the LCD font is good for nostalgia, if we take nostalgia far enough we would also want the slow speed of the original. This is not entirely correct in several ways. First of all, ...

Thus, the WP43S shows THE correct result.
or you can say the 42 truncates and the 43 rounds 8-)
