Re: A simple definite integral, isn't it?
But the question remains: Why could it not be solved by HP 50g, which has a CAS integrated, and by HP Prime in CAS Mode? The 50g returns a dubious answer of 20.4108644167 after about 32 minutes of processing when using a numeric approach. More interesting (to me, anyway) is that the 50g can't seem ...

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
That's a great example of an RPL program building another program and storing it for subsequent use. RPL's "everything is an object" approach helps to facilitate that type activity, and you've put it to good use here. As for code improvement, I don't think the " 1 →LIST " steps a...

Calculator-generated Images
Most of the images posted so far are based on photos or hand-drawn imagery. How about some calculator-generated art? The images below were all created on an HP calculator and then converted to bmp files for use as an off image. Here's a couple of examples to give you a general idea of what this is a...

Re: May 2021 Speculations
Bob, throw in Saturn/SysRPL compatibility and you've just summarized my pipe dream calculator.
It would certainly be a good platform for NewRPL to run on, too.
We can all dream!

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
I guess your interpretation of my opinion is slightly off as well. Regardless of the actual cost, I think a DM48 isn't worth the effort... Have no fear, Walter, your opinions about larger-than-Pioneer calculators and RPL have been clearly visible to me (and probably most others) for quite some time...

You didn't read the emoticon, did you? :? I share your opinion that a DM48 isn't worth the cost. I saw it, hence my also including one further down in my response. I view this particular topic as having as much connection with reality as the "what would you do if you won the lottery?" que...

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
Sounds like progress ... ;) Well, not so much to me. The soft-keys in the top row really need to always be nothing more than soft-keys on a 48/50-like system -- having to activate that as a mode would be problematic, since they also need to be shiftable on numerous planes (including shift-hold). So...

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
+1 I'll add to the votes calling for a DM 48 - or a DM 48/50 - BUT only with a 48G keyboard layout - the keyboard layout of the 50g is one of the few things I really dislike about that calculator. A "DM 51" with the following features would be very enticing: - 48g keyboard layout - 50g fi...

Re: Programming a Lookup Table for Inflation Calendar on DM42
Actually, you only need a single column. The offset into the matrix infers which time period is applicable (either annual or monthly, depending on which data you want to use). I've got a custom-built app for, uhm, "another calculator" that uses the same data from the same source (I use the...
