Re: X?NN in future version?

Ok Thomas I understand now what you meant by X=? <param> Great then ! You are right! your proposal is much more flexible and your solution will provide either X=? 06 or X=? "FOO" which is exactly what I am looking for! A test without touching the stack will X=? IND "FOO" be also ...

Re: X?NN in future version?

In X=? IND ST Y you still have to modify the stack by puting NN in Y...
Whereas in X=NN? the stack/alpha is untouched... that's the whole point of using X?NN instructions...

X?NN in future version?

Hello @thomasokken, When progamming, I often find myself testing X against a register... So naturally I do something like : RCL NN X?Y GTO xx and then I find myself always adding : Rv OR X<>Y (to get either the stack or X back) ... I think that's why the instructions set "X?NN" was added t...

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?

Thanks Dave and Whyuse for the "education" about HP41 memory.

Unfortunately, I think that the DM41X learning curve is very steep!

Sincerely,
Boubker.

Re: Could someone educate me on options for HEPAX RAM size?

Hello, I am really new to Hepax, and trying to "ride" the (big) learning curve. I have a "curiosity" question for the knowledgeable people here by a "neebie" : how did Hepax manage to run programs in it's own memory, where HP41 failed to do so in it's extended memory (E...

Re: Error while loading a RAW file ("TRY AGAIN")

"TRY AGAIN" means that you don't have enough room in the program memory to load your (very long) program. You need to increase the available program memory, either by removing existing programs or reducing the number of registers with SIZE. You are right!!! I did a SIZE 000 before loading...

Error while loading a RAW file ("TRY AGAIN")

Hello all, I am keying a (very long) program for my DM41X (700+ steps). So I went using the DM42 en/decoder. I keyed the program (with only HP41CX compatible instructions) in the DM42 en/decoder, then encoded it to a raw file. I uploaded the raw file in the DM41L en/decoder to check that it could re...

Re: Load/save extended memory files from/to FAT

If all goes well, you'll both eventually be happy! :) But I can't say when, and absolutely cannot confirm any unannounced products or features... 8-) Hello Bob, it seams that I missed your answer!? Very good news indeed! First, the ability to save data from computer (through USB) that can be read f...

Question about the DM41X User Interface

24h into using DM41X and I have some questions about the User Interface : 1) Save RAW file: why do we have to go through ALPHA register to give the name of the program we want to save and then switch to DMCP menus to finish saving? This half DM41X program/half DMCP program process is "bizarre&q...

Re: "long" press on SHIFT + UP not showing function assigned

Ah! Just received my DM41X yesterday (shipped 14/12/2020), thought it was loaded with last firmware...
Will check!

EDIT: you are right, DM41X came with version 2.0 firmware. Will upgrade.
