100% not worried about him breaking either one. I have several backups of each. He is mature for his age and generally very careful with his calculators.

Re: What is the next planned hardware release?
I still hope a DM42 with an extra row of keys will come forth at some point so we can finally have a modern HP48G.

Re: Oldest HP calculator you would use for modern school maths curriculum?
My son started college (for math) at 12. He used the DM42. Two years later he still prefers the DM42 but also uses a 48G at times. He turns his nose up at the HP35s.

Re: Key layout for a DM32 version of DB48X...
I used to use Excel, can recommend if you know it well, but I haven't been able to do the same in other spreadsheet software. Can provide details on why if interested. Nowadays I use TikZ, a LaTeX package very well suited to the task but not easy to learn either. However, it should be easy to edit ...

I asked ChatGPT to write a program for the HP42s given the time in seconds would calculate the distance falling to Earth in feet. Here was the result. 001 LBL "FALLDIST" 002 "Time (s):" 003 PROMPT 004 32.17 005 x 006 2 007 x 008 0.5 009 x 010 DSP X 011 RTN Press STO and then a le...

9, 6 and 3 also navigate the setup file. Is this not intended behavior?

on June 24. Shipping time has improved drastically.
I ordered two DM32 calculators. One for me and my son. We are both enjoying them. We defitenly prefer the DM42, ultimately the HP48G, but are loving the 32. The small number of conversions is really nice. Gone to read how to program this thing.

Maybe SwissMicros would be so kind to have you sign an NDA so you can get a look at the future. Surely, if you created a new 48 they would produce a custom faceplate for it. I would consider this my ultimate calculator.
