Re: Source for additional MOD files

Is there a central place to find docs on these modules? Thanks, Steve The "Other Docs" page on Monte's 41Cl site has most of them; here's a link: http://www.systemyde.com/hp41/documents.html Note that fairly often, the .mod files are updated for small changes to fix small bugs, or possibl...

Re: 43S News

You might want to look at the newRPL project if you haven’t already. For me WP43S is a continuation of the RPN style and newRPL is a continuation of the RPL style. I had looked at it: It’s missing things I would miss. Unfortunately Erable wasn’t quite up to things either as a CAS (after taking it t...

Re: After extensive use: The keyboard

Doing calculator HP restorations one sees the following: All classics, Woodstock’s, Spices, Voyagers, Coconuts, Pioneers, stretch Pioneers and Titans all have a transparent plastic film under the keys but over the PCA and domes. Sort of a dust and spill protection. I always renew these with a ziplo...

Re: After extensive use: The keyboard

yup, this is my only annoyance with what are otherwise wonderful devices. I've even fitted replacement keyboard "foils" to both my DM42 and DM41X, with a clean of the contacts (and the foil); the DM42 improved enormously, the DM41X not at all, which suggests there's more to it than just t...

I just received an e-mail from Michael indicating that he has received my DM42. YAY!
Almost three months.
Were you ever able to find out where the longest delays occured?

Re: DM42 file read/write

13 digits of internal precision can solve a world of problems. Personally, I regret that the evolution of these new calculators, has not been accompanied by an increase in input capabilities (IO port) and storage (files access) ! That was the rationale of my demand ! Regards Michel Very fair point.

Re: DM42 file read/write

Of course, the DM41X is a highly awaited calculator but I believe that the DM42 (wich is already a superb engine) IS NOT the HP42s. I think the DM42 could go further than just emulating the HP42s: high precision and local variables are a first attempt, but why stop here? In another hand, I fear tha...

Re: DM42 file read/write

For added clarity, whilst the HP-42s was the spiritual follow up to the HP-41 series and included the ability to work with programs written for the 41, it's different in many ways and file IO was one of those critical differences. This thread is a useful starting point with regard to understanding s...

Re: DM42 file read/write

I have a dream for my DM42: read/write into ascii files by the use of Virtual Variables : I imagine two virtual variables : “FRead” “FWrite” used as in these examples : “FWrite” ASTO 01 “MyFile1.txt” ASTO IND 01 ; this creates the file MyFile1.txt for writing (append mode) “HR” ASTO IND 01 ; write ...
