Re: removing LCD from plastic case?

I have not done this on a DM but generally heating helps to soften the glue on these things. Rob your wifes/girls hairdryer and heat from below, use moderate heat because LCD's don't like overheating. Another thing I used once is to put a strip of SMD desoldering steel under it and try to carefully ...

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

The "old" HP's were rugged but not waterproof and a HP41 would cost 1500 euro in todays money, I don't want to pay that for a calculator today. In 1984 the 41 was my primary machine to do ALL my calculations, nowadays it is secondary and fun, my laptop with python and matlab is primary. Unfortunatel...

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Sometimes you don't need to say things literally to transmit the message. This discussion started as a joke but goes way to far in my opinion. In such cases I usually answer in the same way as the one asking the question. As a sportshooter and gun owner (in The Netherlands) I am often asked if I sho...

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Otterbox used to make nice covers for calculators and electronics in general, I had one for my palm T5 once but they seem to make only iphone and samsung crap nowadays. However this kind of cover is very useful and cheap to keep a calculator dry even in full rain https://www.amazon.co.uk/Waterproof-...

Re: Algorithmen der Netzwerkanalyse fur programmierbare Taschenrechner

For those interested in these programs, this is the NET program described in the book, saves you an hour of typing. Both RED and NET fit in memory at the same time but for a useful circuit analysis you need at least 50 free registers, 27 registers are used by the program the rest depends on the size...

Re: Algorithmen der Netzwerkanalyse fur programmierbare Taschenrechner

Found the problem, its again the printer module. I plugged the printer module to be able to enter the XROM "PRPLOT" function on line 176 but for some reason if the printer is not present this leads to an error. Unplug the printer and all works fine.

Algorithmen der Netzwerkanalyse fur programmierbare Taschenrechner

Algorithmen der Netzwerkanalyse fur programmierbare Taschenrechner (HP-41C) Dieter Lange After a long time I am trying for nostalgic reasons to run the reduction program (RED) from this book on the DM41 but the analysis part of the program doesn't work, not even with the demo program on page 23. I h...

Re: WP 43S Pilot Run (Poll!)

Where were y'all when the beta was still open? ;) I am a daily HP41 user since 1982 and was looking for a cure for my 41 cardreaders I ended up on the museum website. From there I heard about the 41X beta so I got one and found the forum. The 43 beta was already closed. (If we continue this way the...

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!

Yes of course WP43S, I am mixing up things with all those new developments.
And my nick doesn't imply anything under development, just a matter of choosing another name for each site I am active on :D
