Spreadsheet program for the HP-41

This is not my program, I don’t know how good it is or if it even works. I’m just posting it for people to evaluate themselves and post their findings.

Re: Convert images to .raw programs

Hi all, To follow up on this thread , here is a python3 script that turns any 400x240 image into a .raw program for the DM42 (and free42). Hi I'm curious why you declared class variables at all, not to mention why you declared some with the same as the variable names being passed in the Img2Hex.__i...

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.12 / DM42-3.12

This latest update to both the DMCP and DM42/Free42 parts of the DM42's firmware brings the following improvements: I'm confused. 3.12 is older than 3.15 https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2220 Why was 3.12 not released between 3.11 https://forum.swissmicros.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t...

Re: Firmw update issue on Windows 10

When you install the drivers under Windows-10, you must first disable driver signing enforcement, otherwise the driver installation does not properly complete installation, even though there were no errors. This web page explains how to disable signed driver enforcement: https://social.technet.micr...

Re: Firmw update issue on Windows 10

3.13

The drive doesn't show up on my system, so I thought I needed to install the com port driver and libusb.
The user's manual is still confusing regarding the FW update procedure. FW updates never go smooth for me.

Firmw update issue on Windows 10

Hi

I haven't updated the FW in a while, and I'm now using a Windows 10 laptop (not my choice).

I've installed libusb and the virtual COM port driver.

When I click Program in the DM tool the screen never shows the STM micro.

Are there special instructions for updating Fw on Windows 10?

thanks

Re: DM42- clock losing time

Received my DM42 in August of 2018 so it's pretty new S/N 3108. No real issues with time keeping. So maybe the design has been tweaked in more recent batches? In my case, it lost time while the dm42 wasn’t in use. It may be something to do when the calc is turned off as opposed to being used very o...

I tune my HF rig to WWV and let my DM42 listen to it over night...

You just have to inject some humor into this very serious discussion.

Re: DM42- clock losing time

I can confirm that the DM42 clock has a precision in the order of minutes, not seconds. My DM42 is 11 minutes ahead of true time today - I adjusted it several months ago (sorry I didn't record that date). I concur it's a calculator, not a clock, even less a precision clock. Nevertheless (and as men...

Re: DM42- clock losing time

Are we talking a few seconds different per month? A few minutes? A few hours? A few days? It's a calculator, not a precision time piece. A little lost time is not an issue. Many minutes over several months. There are precision clock sources driving most microcontrollers (some use the cheesy resonat...
