Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Calculators in the HP48 series accumulate data points in matrices, so that matrix editing commands can be used to add or remove points. Statistical functions then take the name of a matrix as an argument and the column or columns to be analysed. I don't know what the HP43S matrix editing facilities ...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

The other main use for sigma-plus and minus is for adding and subtracting lists of real numbers using sum-x, or complex numbers / 2D vectors, using sum-x and sum-y. On modern calculators there are other ways to do this, but I expect that quite a few people are in the habit of working this way. I'm s...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

To me it seems logical to have sigma-minus as the function of the leftmost menu key in no-menu mode, but to make the key reconfigurable like the sigma-plus key below it. Personally I'd like x! there, but allowing it to be configured would be great.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

One more bug, this time with "tick buttons". If I start the firmware from the DMCP Load Program option, the default settings include triple-press of shift bringing up the HOME menu, and a line in the menu indicating the selected row when SHIFT is pressed. But if I go into the CFG menu in which these...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

Minor SHOW bug in version 27. To reproduce it, try the following steps: Clear the stack. Enter 2 300 y^x (to get a big integer). Press SHOW (f[.]). (The long integer is displayed in small font - is this intentional?) Press EXIT. The lower two stack levels are left blank, and the HOME menu is not red...

Re: 43S News

Here's another approach that works for me. I go into the Draft Documentation folder and there's a little download icon, just to the left of the Clone button. Clicking this gives me the option to download the directory contents as a zip file. I can't see how to download individual files this way, but...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

My DMCP version is 3.15. I tried both versions of version 26 and both behave in the same way. After playing for a while I can now be precise about what the problem is. If I press either arrow multiple times (say five) and then press the other arrow, the first press of the other arrow is ignored. Thi...

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C

I've been using version 23 of the WP43C firmware on my physical DM42 extensively. Today I changed to version 25. I immediately noticed that the up- and down- arrow keys, which I was using to cycle through the various HOME menus, did not always register, missing about one press in five. Changing back...
