Re: Rapid wear with shift key

which everyone agrees is an improvement (that is, everyone except someone that is sure to reply to this message) Ha! There's always that someone, isn't there? I also noticed that the the faceplate is metal instead of plastic like my DM42. That seems to keep it from bowing outward and probably means...

Re: Having Trouble with User-Programmed Menus (Programming Query)

Sort of, you have the stop but then you would have something like a "GTO 00" immediately following it. So if the user pushes a menu key, it executes that label, comes back to your stop, steps down, and goes to LBL 00, refreshing the menu. You will always be looping back and recreating the ...

Re: Battery life

I had one from the first production batch, I use it daily, written and use many programs, and it still shows full battery after two years, so presumably that's much closer to "normal" than you're getting.

I’m amazed by the work done on these tiny periodic tables. Can any one recommend a good source for Fresnel lenses for my DM42?

How about adding elements that haven't been discovered yet? That would save you from having to add them in later.

Re: buttons that don't register well

My only thought is that's awesome. I've never done anything like replacing domes and would love to try or see a video on it. Glad it works.

Re: "Enter" Key

If you haven't tried it yet, you might give flexing the keys a shot. Made a huge difference in all my keys, including the ENTER key.

Re: UPDATE: DMCP-3.14 / DM42-3.14

So in my quick testing, it appears that the keyboard does prioritize left to right. So if I am still holding down a 7, 4, 1, 0, I can enter any of the other integers. However, if I hold down say, a 9, 6, 3, then I can't enter 7,8,4,5,1,2,0. My guess would be that when you're quickly entering a 1,5,0...

Re: Store and Recall extra steps

It's one of the benefits that the HP 42s by default had 25 storage registers (R00 -- R24). And you can resize it to be even larger if you like (up to 100 with direct addressing, more with indirect). This necessitates double digit register addresses. You can change the size of your storage registers ...

Re: DM42- clock losing time

Mine is from Dec 2017 as well. I set the clock initially but then realized I really didn't care to see it displayed and haven't looked at it since. Currently about 6 minutes fast. It doesn't bother me. Not even sure why there needs to be a clock on the calculator. I'll use my calculator for calculat...
