State file corrupt
Hi everyone! I usually update the DM42 without any problems, but this time a bad USB connection corrupted the state file. I plug in the USB data cable, and save the state file (General) and answer Yes to overwrite the existing (General) state file. Point taken - I should have saved a backup at this ...

Re: DM42 hangs & unresponsive to reset; removed battery, random screen
My DM42 had a similar responce.
I was not warned, that the battery had run out. Changing the battery and loaded a fresh state solved the problem.
Also remember to use good quality CR2032 Cell batteries. The ones usually bought in bulks in supermarkets ain't allways reliable.
All the best

"If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it."
Why update just to update? You should only update if there is an correctable error, enhanced functions or something like that.
Kind regards
Peter

Re: Battery Consumption
This has been mentioned before, but a CR2032 coin cell can be of poor quality. I use only the known brands such as Duracell, Maxcell, Varta, Panasonic or something like. Don't use the cheap ones usually found in large bulk collections in supermarkets. They are usually of bad quality for long lasting...

Re: Can't get USB to work correctly
Hi! You have to be very carefull when using the USB connection. Because of the shape of the DM42 the cable cannot be fully inserted into the socket. However this seldom give problems - when you know of it. :-) And furthermore it needs to be a data transfer micro USB cable - not just a charging cable...

Question about updating the firmware on the DM42 calc.
Hi everyone I have a question about firmware updating the DM42 calculator. Does the update leave the calculator to factory defaults after the update has been applied? Because I have a lot of loaded programs, customizations and functions, which it will take quite a time to manually restore to their o...

Re: DM42 arrived today! Stack layout?
Try also reading the user manual for the HP 15C calculator, section 3 page 32 about the automatic memory stack. There is a very good illustration on how the memory stack works, and lifting and dropping is explained very well with fine examples. The HP manuals not only explaines the calculator functi...
