Re: Faceplate peeling.
Oh, It’s called reading the post (oops). The silk screen is peeling off would require a new face plate which can then be glued into place. That is something new to me, as both my 42S (beta and production) have not suffered that! Could it be a lab environment (outgassing chemicals?) or it could be so...

Re: DM42 works with USB but not battery
Look at it the positive way. With those batteries, you do not need a current limiting resistor on the LEDs  Sometimes I look at the Chinese batteries the negative way and sometimes the positive way. All depends how I pick them up. Also, I NEVER use Duraleak (Duracell) batteries! Two ma...

Re: Can't install LibUSB on Windows 10
Why is it still on line? Still on line as it is required if an update to the newer system has not been made. That is there was a version xxx.xx that, from beta to that version, required the old method. There may still be existing units that have a version between beta and xxx.xx out there. Once vers...

Re: DM-42 in HP-41 font
The goose! Flying into Toronto and I had an HP moment: The ATIS (automatic terminal information service aka the actual weather) stated that a “goose” was affecting all runways. It was 05:30 so I asked: how big was the goose or conversely how fast was it to be able to affect all 4 runways simultaneou...

Re: HP-41X Alpha Legend Style
I think I better edit my post! My eyes are 40 years older now then they were when I bought my first HP 41c with extended memory and functions. :o If I do the math, in 1980 I was 23. I am now almost 63. About the +5.00 helpers, I use those for extremely close up work like watch servicing. :ug...

I use it for data base modification, but not enough to memorize the layout and commands as I have on the keyboard after 40 years!

Re: FAST/SLOW status
A nice feature which I've not found documented in the manual unless I missed it. That reminds me of a standard reply from management in the training/testing department: Me: “Did I miss that or was it not documented?” Management: “Yes, you missed it and it was not documented.“ Me:
