If the DM32 and DM42 are both using the Intel decimal floating-point library, why is the value of SIN(31°) different? (1 ulp, but still)
Werner
They use different versions of the library: v2.0u1 in the DM42 and v2.0u2 in the DM32.

Edit: this might help illustrate: a bar chart is a set of shapes with areas, but it's not confusing because the bars are all the same width. If the bars were different widths, we'd be in trouble.
Here's an example of a pie chart that isn't distorted. :-)

Re: The Challenge of documenting the C47 ideas and plans

Well I'm making an effort to start trying to document the C47. [https://gitlab.com/calculators9841205/classic47_book ][/url] Hi Daniel, Your Gitlab repo states that you've released your manual under the "Creative Commons Zero v1.0 Universal" licence which means copyright is surrendered. H...

Re: Shipping Delays

Don't phone them - go to the post office/delivery office as I said. The person on the phone is not going to give you tracking for free and doesn't care who you are. The person at the post office will have to deliver the package, sooner or later, so it's in their interest to do it sooner before escal...

This behaviour is an accurate reproduction of what the original HP-32SII does.

Re: Shipping Delays

I purchased a DM 32 on 4 Jan 2024 that was declared shipped on 8 Jan. The shipping tracker said it arrived in country (Canada) on 23 Jan. There is no tracking in this country. I used the default inexpensive shipping method. Have you tried going to the post office and asking? Take the shipping track...

That's very neat. I presume the HP-48 had an MVAR menu? I can't tell looking through the 48G advanced users manual.
It's in the Owner's Manual under Solving Equations for Unknown Values. Put the equation on the stack and then left-shift SOLVE.

Re: When did the MVAR-style input appear in HP calculators?

Does anyone know of this style of UI for programs pre the 42s? Or for that matter post the 42s? I'm not familiar with the set up on the HP-48 etc. I also think it may uniquely work with RPN - I can't imagine how this would work for an algebraic set up. The HP18C, an algebraic machine released in 19...

Re: Overlays!

I dont get it. Why doesnt Swiss Micros have professional Overlays made and sell them? Seems like a major oversight to provide for Overlays and leave it up to users to figure out a way to make overlays. Why would SwissMicros make overlays when none of their calculators require an overlay? Or do you ...
