Re: Updates for DM42?
No, this will be a f/w update like all the prior updates. (assuming that's not a joke...) Still, it would be nice to have the DM42 firmware running on the newer hardware with a USB3 charging port. FYI - the DM32 is USB-C, but it's not USB3, it's still USB2. 3's speed is not needed and it uses far m...

Re: Updates for DM42?
I believe the current DM42 firmware is 3.24, not 3.22.avosough wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 5:13 pmFor curiosity, the current DM42 firmware v3.22 is based on Free42 3.0.15 (per release notes here viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3347).

Re: How about a new priner accessory?
There might even be a way (albeit more complicated) to use an Android phone as the printer, with a special app. But most smart phones don't use IR any longer. So a dongle of some type would have to be used. I just think it's useful to have a printed output, that doesn't depend on lugging around an ...

Re: New 47-platform design layout R47
So I hear the frustration of not getting the final calculator in your hands. At the same time I also hear no layout complaints from you, which is a good thing (I think), which means you see nothing that upsets your potential way of learning and working. You are correct! I won't complain about any l...

Re: New 47-platform design layout R47
Just give me a final layout! As long as it is fully molded on the keys and faceplate and doesn't require stickers, I'll be happy. I can learn any layout if the calculator gives me enough power and capability to make the learning worthwhile. Done. This is the C47 layout, which is available now (!!!)...

Re: New 47-platform design layout R47
Why all this fuss over the keyboard layout? Did HP ever have this much discussion about it? No! They designed a keyboard and said, "Here it is. Take it or leave it." We took it because they were the best calculators on Earth at the time. You'll never get a consensus about "The best&qu...

Re: WP43: FAT Benefits (Poll!)
Whoever votes for thermal paper printout, please tell me your reason(s). Thanks in advance. I like being able to hold the paper in my hand and analyze program listings or whatever. I also like the immediacy. I don't like the extra steps of having to transfer the contents of the FAT to a PC and prin...

Re: WP43 Bug Reports and Maintenance
Who would pick the difference between DO 10 I = 1. 10 and DO 10 I = 1, 10? The compiler? :D I made a very similar mistake when I worked calculating missile trajectories for the US Army. The missile landed in a civilian's yard rather than hitting the on-base target. Fortunately, it didn't have a l...
