Looking damn good, I wish I were able to attend the Allschwil meeting.

Thanks to Walter, Pauli and whoever else is contributing! (Marcus too? - simply don't know whom I should be thanking).
Our third guy is called Martin (from France). He does the software so far, based on some input from Pauli and the manuals written by me. Martin is also a thorough proofreader - so he found a lot of bugs in the manuals I missed.

Marcus isn't involved anymore - no more time for such projects.

So, is matrix handling the same as on the WP 34s with descriptors to define the matrix dimensions and location in register memory ?

It's much more like on the HP-42S. And you will get a Matrix Editor making use of the big screen. There was a screenshot at sourceforge ...

I’m very happy to hear this. I much prefer the HP 42s system.

There are exciting news on this site (about the Allschwil HP-Meeting 2018),
- http://www.hp-collection.org/meeting2018_review.html -
regarding the WP43s (not only, there are more very interesting posts).

As mentioned on the Allschwil meeting, keyboard layout changed a bit in rows 2 and 3. So this is the state of the art now:
.

row23q.png (14.23 KiB) Viewed 5636 times
[TRI] calls sin, arcsin, cos, arccos, tan, arctan into the unshifted menu row. [CC] works similar to [COMPLEX] on HP-42S. [RBR] calls the register browser. [UM] toogles user mode. Prefix key colours must be printed (the keys can't be executed monochrome for technological reasons). Everything else should be self-explanatory.

Does this mean the [f] and [g] keys will be painted yellow and blue, rather than molded in the respective colors?

It seems at least a yellow key should be available, since there is one now, right?

If only painted keys are available, is it possible to paint the entire key, rather than just the top face? This way, even if the top should wear due to excessive use, the rest of the key will remain mostly intact in original color.

Of course, if one uses the [f] and/or [g] keys that much, one's 'muscle memory' is probably enough to not need colors to find them. ;)

Thanks for the update Walter.

Though I've skimmed the Allschwil video I've not watched it 100% yet (part of my weekend plan). Has anyone yet suggested a ROUGH date of when the PC-based version and initial h/w version might be expected? Even the closest year is better than nothing.

Watching the video is recommended also in this matter.

@Walter

A better label for the Trigonometry key would be TRG rather than TRI.

TRI would be more of a three/Tri-state mode, not necessarily Trig.
