Re: Landscape DM42?
Of course I'd like it, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat, but I'm not going to stress myself out over it anymore.
Re: Landscape DM42?
Going out on a limb here, and ducking...
I might buy it too, but I would not like to give up the display.
The logical consequence is to increase the height to make room for it. The TI 92 and Voyage 200 calculators have large screens. In other words, are we discussing a landscape (width > height) form factor, or a HP Voyager lookalike?
It seems to me that one of these roads are blocked.

Re: Landscape DM42?
Just throwing ideas out into the void: what about a credit card sized portrait DM42? Similar dimensions to the other credit card sized models, but portrait, small screen (of the same resolution), completely compatible with the DM42 - but smaller?
Re: Landscape DM42?
Given the screen-to-keyboard proportions, I think the keys would be far too small. You'd need a microscope to see the writing on the keyboardkeithdalby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:11 amJust throwing ideas out into the void: what about a credit card sized portrait DM42? Not SwissMicros staff, just an enthusiast.

Personally, I think the credit card sized calcs are nice toys, not serious tools. Toys are beyond the spec of the DM42 IIRC. YMMV.keithdalby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:11 amJust throwing ideas out into the void: what about a credit card sized portrait DM42? How could it be completely compatible with less keys and a smaller display?keithdalby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:11 amJust throwing ideas out into the void: what about a credit card sized portrait DM42? Re: Landscape DM42?
Possibly, but my DM-15 fits into my shirt pocket with ease and I use it all the time on-the-go, but my DM42 is just too large for that. Even a landscape model the size of the DM1XL would have the same weakness of being too large, being about the same size as the DM42.Walter wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 11:42 amnice toys, not serious toolskeithdalby wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:11 amJust throwing ideas out into the void: what about a credit card sized portrait DM42? I don't know, it's fun to think about these things.

Cash? Cash, cash...hmm. I seem to remember that's something people used to use in the old days. Y'know like 8-track tapes, audio cassettes or CDs. I'll have to google it.
