Soviet Spring Festival bitmap

Post by DMaier »

On the off chance that anyone else wondered what the text on the Soviet-spring-festival bitmap (Слава советским женщинам!) means, it turns out to mean "Glory to Soviet women!". Shocker. I'm guessing this was a stamp?

According to this, it's a postcard. (Also, all the Soviet postage stamps I've seen had CCCP and the denomination on them, and this picture has neither.)

I think the UK is the only nation that omits its name from its postage stamps.

It's the inventor's privilege.
