I have received last week my DM42 (s/n: 00408) and I must say that I am impressed by the quality of the unit.
Unfortunately upon reception I noticed that the bottom left corner of my faceplate was unglued, I push it, but it refused to stay there.
Then the top left corner has the same issue, followed by the top right corner and today the complete faceplate came off.
Upon examination, you could feel that the glue on the back of the faceplate would never stick for a long time.
Now that I have removed (peel off) that glue, do you have any suggestion on what I may use to replace it ?
Sylvain

Re: Unglued faceplate
I did the 2mm 3M tape mod last night, let's see how it holds up. I fear that it will loosen itself from the keyboard (made of ABS) just like the original one. In that case, some roughening of the ABS with sand paper might be on order, but we'll find out sooner or later.
In any case, before I glued it all together, I took a chance and spray-coated the bezel with matte clear acrylic paint. It came out really well, visibility of the writing is as good as it ever was, and it's a noticeably smoother surface finish now, making me imagine that it will last longer. Again, time will tell.
