This is embarrassing, but I'm afraid I don't understand the joke.

Don't worry, it wasn't a very good joke anyway!

A dissertation is the paper written by a PhD candidate. Your three-year-old must be brilliant if she can get a PhD (or if she can use RPN)

I'm known for my bad jokes. When my wife read that Monday is MLK day in the USA (Martin Luther King Day) she though it said MILK. I told her on MILK day we had to listen to a speech called "I have a CREAM" instead of the speech Dr. King actually gave: "I have a DREAM"

This I know, having written one for my Master's degree and part of one for my (as yet unfinished) PhD, but there are too many unconnected dots for me to understand the joke. There's no wordplay or ironic humour. Now the MLK joke works as a joke - if it weren't so insensitive :?

At the universities where I've studied, we call it a PhD thesis. Sure it's the same thing though. But... in all honesty, RPN isn't difficult at all, so I just couldn't understand the joke.

Hi Keith!
I like that, given she's not just only playing with it :)
But if she uses RPN, which is nevertheless a little bit different than things are teached normaly, she might also do other things from a different approach.
Thumbs up!

Dissertatio (Latin) = Dissertation (German) = PhD thesis (US American).

And, generally speaking, jokes which must be explained aren't the right ones for the respective audience. ;)

Thank you! At last there's someone who appreciates good humor or at least my humor!

Not sure I'd categorise that as being hard. I just don't get it.

My wife laughed at the joke though, so it might just be me.
