I was under the impression (at least from posts from the golden age, left elsewhere) that every key was reassignable in the 43s. Is it still so?

As usual, preference depends on what you learned first.

I think "]-π, π]" is referred to as "French notation" and "(-π, π]" is referred to as "American notation" or "English notation". I don't know about the rest of the world, but there is also "Czech notation" which is like American/English notation but replaces square brackets with angle brackets.

Une autre notation (d'origine anglaise mais très répandue également) utilise, pour les intervalles (semi-)ouverts, une parenthèse au lieu d'un crochet.

meaning

Another notation (of English origin but also very widespread) uses, for (semi-)open intervals, a parenthesis instead of a bracket.

I find this "french" notation more intuitive.

Massimo, almost all can be changed in the USER menu, as also per Walter’s reference. But ‘EXIT’ bottom right is recommended not to change, i.e. that is a problem for left/right swap. Also I want the keys to permanently change, not while in USER mode only.

So that's four different notations so far. ISO 80000-2 only lists the (] and ]] styles (hooky scanned copy here).

The fact that I did my secondary and further education in France probably explains why I find it more intuitive too
