Received my DM42 in good order and am very impressed. One thing is annoying me however. When i turn the machine there is a rattling noise inside the calculator as if there is something loose. So i am a bit worried if this will create problems in the future.
Is this a known issue and if so is there something i can do to resolve it.
with kind regards
DM42 rattles
Re: DM42 rattles
Hi there. Glad you're enjoying your DM42
The rattling is something that hasn't been reported before. I would suggest you remove the rear cover by unscrewing the two screws at the top and gently prising the cover away from the front part. Then examine the innards to see if there is something visibly loose. There shouldn't be!

Re: DM42 rattles
Hi,
Same for me today.
Ratteling noise inside the newly received DM42...
I opened it, and found one of the B screw completely loose!
Every thing is ok now...
Sincerely,
Boubker.

Re: DM42 rattles
Same thing happened with mine.
Fortunately, it's serviceable hardware and an easy fix.

Re: DM42 rattles
FWIW, I have noticed that each of my DM-sized and Voyager-sized units had loose screws on the inside when I received them. A quick disassembly and tightening of the screws fixed things up very easily.
