Post by salvomic »

I confess: I'm doing ON/OFF sequence more times to see drawn OFF Images to appear: too nice! :-)

Oddio! I thought I was the only one! :D

Let's form a support group before our ON key gets worn out.

...I often has to stop myself from reaching for my DM42 to switch it "really off" since it is displaying something.

I took the iconoclast's route - deleted all these nice pictures and only left the one showing a blank screen. Sorry, artists, but this might be ascribed to my aesthetical fundamentalism (none else).

"aesthetical fundamentalism"?
Wow! You sure know how to turn a phrase! You're obviously not a native English speaker. We know words like that, we just don't use words like that! :)

Also, you are hereby banned from the "People who like to turn the calculator on and off to see all the pretty pictures" club. Your self control is enviable.

Hans, your signature got me inexplicably excited. "42L," I thought, "I want one!"

I have thought the exact same thing as I have been creating Off images and putting them on my DM42 to see how they look.

In fact, I was considering posting a request to enable quick viewing of and cycling through the Off images. Something like add a fifth option to the “File” menu:

5. Off Images >

Selecting this new option would bring up a list of Off images, similar to the list of programs shown when Option 1 is selected. You would then select from this list to view the image. Whilst viewing an image, pressing the up and down arrows would cycle through the images. Exit would take you back to the list.

Any supporters?

I'd like that option! I'd also like the option to select one or more pictures as power off screens and not have to cycle through all the pictures in the directory.
