Hi,
the DEL command is not visible in certain circumstances.
How to reproduce:
Create/Load a program with more lines as one screen full of the program editor -
the contents doesn't matter.
Move the cusor to the top line of the screen (doesn't need to be line 0).
->CLEAR
DEL
The DEL is not visible but active/working. You can get out of it by pressing EXIT.
When in the second line, the first line gets doubled, DEL remains invisible.
From the third line on DEL works as exspected.
Cheers!
Meino

Re: BUG: DEL deletes itsself...so to say
I had a bit of trouble reproducing this. At first, the DEL _ _ _ _ prompt appeared as expected, regardless of which line the cursor was on. But after twiddling the font size settings and trying this with an application menu active, or no menu, etc., I was able to reproduce it, though still not reliably.
I tried this with firmware 3.2. This should probably be filed under "program editing issues with the > 2 line display."

Re: BUG: DEL deletes itsself...so to say
I can confirm that this also occurs with firmware version 3.4t03 with the default display and font.
Just one comment for the OP, you cannot delete header line 00.

Ey, what's that?!? Please explain ...
WP43 SN00000, 34S, and 31S for obvious reasons; HP-35, 45, ..., 35S, 15CE, DM16L S/N# 00093, DM42β SN:00041
Re: BUG: DEL deletes itsself...so to say
It’s a test version that was sent to several users who have had problems with programs freezing the calculator and issues with the flash drive. It will eventually be released as version 3.4.

I guess grsbanks just doesn't trust me since I spilled the beans on another release that hadn't been announced yet. I don't blame him!HPMike wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 9:50 pmI don’t recall signing a confidentiality agreement.toml_12953 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:00 pmYou weren't supposed to mention that! Re: BUG: DEL deletes itsself...so to say
I'm sure there's no intended secrecy, and anyone who is surprised that new versions are being tested is delusional.
Re: BUG: DEL deletes itsself...so to say
...know that. I want to delete the top most displayed line, which is not necessarily line 00 of the program.
@Thomas:
You wrote "program editing issues with the > 2 line display"...is there a true, original two-line mode with the DM42 which mimics the original
HP42s look'n'feel or dou you refer to Free42?
Cheers!

PS: I am running 3.3 of the firmware currently
