I also did the combined binary and it worked seamlessly. Thanks!

Quick question about updating. The new update procedure makes references to "since 3.7".
My DM42 Firmware is currently at 3.1.

Do I need to do a update to get it to 3.7 and then a second update to get to the current?

Or can I update directly to 3.9. If so, what update procedure do I use.

Thanks

Bill, you can go direct to 3.9 but you will have to use dm_tool to do it. I think David kept the instructions for this method in the manual even though it is now deprecated.

You'll need to flash the combined .bin file with both the DMCP and DM42 parts included.

I've tried to update to the latest version using df-util on a mac, when df-util was ready and I reseted the calculator, the first part seems on but then after pressing exit I've got an exception when checking QSPI

error-2.jpg

any ideas?

I manage to get my calculator running again, what I did was remove the backplate so I could press PGM and Reset button to enter bootloader mode, then I was able to use df-util to flash it to version 3.5, and the calculator start up normally. Then I could use menus to enter bootloader again and update to version 3.7 and then using usb disk to install dm42 program and all went well. Use the usb disk to update to version 3.9 and dm42 v 3.9 and all went well.

I have Firmware version 3.5...Would the #3 combined Binary work with that version via the FAT USB drive update option?...(I presume one still uses the option "Flash Firmware from USB even with the combined file...)

Did exactly that last week. Worked perfectly.
