My battery dropped pretty quick from 3.00V to now 2.85V and is stable now for 24 hrs contrary to my expectations and earlier battery consumption ( batery died within a month without using the calculator and on V3.00 software).

We're 5 days further and without using the DM42. I've checked today and we're at 2.83V. So at this rate the DM42 will be at 2.00V (not working) in about 2000 days. 0.02V per 5 days drop assumed. Guess this is worthwhile keeping an eye on still.

± what? How about some error estimation?

Do you account for temperature fluctuations?

No error correction no nothing. Just a super simple high-level estimate. So let's see how the next month goes. Mildy and not using the DM42

Down to 2.79V now per October 23rd. Did and do not use. Just switching on, checking the voltage in the top bar and switching off.

Wait a minute after switching on before reading the voltage. There is a power surge when the inverter that supplies the screen starts up, and there's also the keypress on the [ON] key.

The voltage is re-read when the clock flips over to the next minute. My DM42, for example, goes from 2.89V to 2.92V when this happens.

Okay and that is good advice. Who more has experience with battery life? I mean un-, and re-screwing in a new battery every 2-3 months is not ideal to say the least. Also not mechanically.

btw... now down to 2.64V doing nothing but adding up some numbers.

Waited 2 minutes and dropped to 2.63V and the battery icon is at 3 bars (out of 6).

Another 10x times off-and on and now down to 2.51V. this is getting very nasty and I'd appreciate if the DM team comes up with a solution. Any tips on brand of batteries I should try?

I wrote to the team and David asked me to make some measurements. After that he was able to compile a version (3.12 test) which I found stable energy-wise: after a week the battery recovered up to 2.92V after several tests flashing new and old firmwares.
Do as Michaels says: Pm to SwissMicros. If your issue is the same as mine a "cure" is already available.
