...

A week from time of shipment, but how long from when the order is placed?
Does SM send an email when the pkgs are shipped?
I went back and checked my archive of order email. Last September 12 I ordered an in-stock DM16L and received it seven days after placing the order. They would have seen the order in the early afternoon of a business day. So, very quick service from order to delivery on in-stock items, in my experience.
I was actually asking about the orderd for the Dm42s that shipped, since there are likely to be many more of those shipped (eventually),
than the others.

One could derive a map of countries with a ... ummh ... sloppy postal service easily from such fora. ;)
WP43 SN00000, 34S, and 31S for obvious reasons; HP-35, 45, ..., 35S, 15CE, DM16L S/N# 00093, DM42β SN:00041

here, ten or 15 years ago, the postal service was better, nowadays is sloppy in a few countries. Besides, I live in a island (the biggest of Mediterranean, ok, but always island) and the service is much more slow :)

What? Really Salvo :?:
I don't think so: I had so many issues with the local post office when living in a small tuscan village in 1991-98...
We've always been served this way.

Massimo, here in Sicily 10-15 years ago public and customary post delivered also on Saturday, nowadays no more (only MON-THU, FRI is "optional" sometimes). Then, yes, there were also some issues: parcel sent from Milan to here took one day more "only to pass the sea", with no real reason (there are airports also here, as you know and the letters or parcels don't come with a boat...).
Now I'm having more issues, and I live in a bigger city than first: I thought it should be better, but...
I hope they improve the service, especially those from abroad: I'm waiting for a letter from USA after a month!

Yes, this is true unfortunately, also in Milan.

indeed. And another delay happens when they write in the tracking "working" (Italian: "in lavorazione"): if there is this label, *also if* the parcel is in our city on Friday morning, 70% of the time it will be delivered next Monday, I don't know why.

I'd like to say "the Post Office works very well", I don't hate them (some friends of mine work there), but, sorry...

I ordered a DM42 on 2/2 and suppose it likely shipped on 2/5. There was a note somewhere saying that they planned to ship on 2/5, but I can't find it now.

In the past, my orders have arrived very quickly -- in Phoenix within 2-3 days of the Swiss postmark. Never got a shipping notification or tracking email from SwissMicros, though. I personally don't care because it's too much work to micromanage incoming packages.
