Re: DM42 User Manual

Reading the on-line manual, I noticed that it says Mac users can install dfu-util using Homebrew. Could that be changed to mention that it can also be installed using MacPorts?

I personally don't like Homebrew's approach to managing permissions. MacPorts follows the more conservative approach of "must be root to install stuff." Homebrew may be what the cool kids use, but MacPorts deserves to be recognized as well.

This is an HTML file, I've already changed quite a bit.
My user book is perfect, can change by yourself!
Should be like that!
PDF does not have to be.

(For our unilingual readers: Tried to explain the reasons for and benefits of proper manuals, contentwise and formatwise.)
WP43 SN00000, 34S, and 31S for obvious reasons; HP-35, 45, ..., 35S, 15CE, DM16L S/N# 00093, DM42β SN:00041

No problem. Most browsers can translate many languages into English automatically. Is this close to your meaning?

It is not the purpose of the exercise that everyone writes their own manual here. Rather, the manual "ex works" should be so good that it is not necessary.

And a PDF-file can be used to format and also print out properly. In the print you may make hand-written personal notes.

I have to admit automatic translation has improved a lot. Though some subtleties get lost. So, yes, it's close to my meaning. ;)

No need to be pained by it, Walter is right.

While discussing this with Michael and David the other day, I agreed to put together a manual in PDF form (so, printable if you want to print it) that goes through the differences between the DM42 and the HP-42S.

Prior knowledge of how to use the HP-42S is therefore assumed but I'll also point people to online resources for that machine.
An offline version would be great, for use without WiFi access.
What is the status of the PDF version?

Grsbanks was quiet so far.

Can't a website just be printed as a PDF?

It can be but then it's not paginated nicely and doesn't have page numbers or an index.
