DM42 User Manual
Re: DM42 User Manual
For what it's worth, the F1 to F6 keys work whether the DM42 menu is displayed or not.
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who do not.

I don't have one of those "Zubehör"s on my PC. Will Accessories do?Walter wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2017 9:59 pmSeems it is .txt. You can use the Editor found in the directory "Zubehör" on your PC. Though read the previous paragraph and Thomas' post viewtopic.php?p=2812#p2812 for more.

Re: DM42 User Manual
I guess that's the name of this directory on an English PC. Don't know for sure, however, since I don't own one. Just try and report back, please.toml_12953 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 6:02 pmI don't have one of those "Zubehör"s on my PC. Will Accessories do?Walter wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2017 9:59 pmSeems it is .txt. It's called Windows Accessories in English, and there are two text editors there, Notepad and WordPad.Walter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:51 pmI guess that's the name of this directory on an English PC. I don't see Notepad on my PC - guess it's equivalent to Editor. WordPad is present.Thomas Okken wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 11:32 pmIt's called Windows Accessories in English, and there are two text editors there, Notepad and WordPad.Walter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 9:51 pmI guess that's the name of this directory on an English PC. Re: DM42 User Manual
That's probably the same thing, as long as its icon looks like one of these: https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+notepad+iconWalter wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2017 11:46 pmI don't see Notepad on my PC - guess it's equivalent to Editor. Notepad is the one you want for editing plain text; WordPad also has some styling functionality.
Re: DM42 User Manual
Confirmed. So Notepad = Editor. Thanks, Thomas.

Re: DM42 User Manual
Certainly - but with the menu displayed I know what I press while else I hope I remember correctly what I read days ago in a post far, far away. See the difference?

Re: DM42 User Manual
Which is also subject to change in any future firmware update as well. I too prefer to see the menu stay, not toggle at the press of one of the menu's own softkeys... Are we alone, Walter?
I believe in free will. Just can't help it.
Re: DM42 User Manual
It seems to me that folks that are smart enough to use the power and flexibility of the DM42 are also smart enough to remember a few possibly hidden keys. If pressed, then all you really need to remember is F2. If that's still a challenge, you probably shouldn't be using this machine.
