Re: New File Updates (Late August '18)
Hi,
this is an "this is not an issue"-issue to prevent an issue...so to say:
I updated the help file as follows:
I connected my DM42 to USB of my PC (Linux), activated USB disc mode on my DM42
and mounted the USB device by hand to a mount point.
Then I copied the current help file of my DM42 to my PC and copied the new file to
replace the current one to the according directory of my DM42.
I unmounted the device and checked via command "mount" whether
it is still mounted, which it was not.
Then I exited USB disk mode on my DM42, removed the USB cable and pressed
F1...oops! A crash happened.
Not a problem: I switched off my DM42, switched it on again, F1...TADA! The new help file.
Why I report this non-issue issue:
(Warning! Wild guess ahead...)
Would it be possible, that the OS (or its equivalent) is still holding open a file of the flash, while
USB disk mode is already entered?
And...after a new file of the same name is copied to replace the old one, a dangling handle
is still memorized by the OS, which finally crashes the DM42?
Could this - if so - became a problem in the future?
Cheers!

Re: New File Updates (Late August '18)
In my case, I connected to the USB drive (I'm using windows, but don't think that matters), deleted the old index.htm file, copied the new one to the DM42, disconnected usb from the windows side ("safely remove device..."), exited usb-drive mode on the DM42, then upon return to the calculator, immediately pressed F1 and help opened normally.
