Driven by curiosity: Is it only me or is it the glass actually?

Hi,
every time I touch the Gorilla glass of the DM42 screen I think..."...that feels somehow different...somehow 'smoother'".
(compared to ordinary glass of a window...that one without that gorilla...you know... )
Based on physically parameters gorilla glass should feel much harder...in my opinion.
Instead it feels (at least for me) somehow smoother, softer...more "silky"...(oh what a crazy attempt of a non-native speaker
to find words for SUCH a topic )
Is it just me, /knowing/ that it is 'better" glass than ordinary window glass...and therefore /has to/ feel somehow different (selective perception)...or am I not alone? Is it real?
AH! By the way: Position your DM42 in a way so that sun light (which is nearly parallel) falls onto the Gorilla glass and is reflected back to
a distant, plane object...the ceiling of the room for example.
The reflected light forms a nearly perfect rectangle.
THIS glass is more plane than the mirror in my bathroom!
Cheers!
